Emerging Lead Pastors

The Lead Pastor Fellow pathway is designed for leaders who sense a call to pastoral ministry and are ready to take the next step. Participants are placed in host churches throughout Colorado where they serve as paid ministry fellows while preparing for a lead role. Over one to three years, they work alongside experienced church leaders, are invested in, and are given broad leadership experience as pastors. This pathway provides opportunities to preach, lead ministries, learn how to handle finances and the church board, care for people, and experience all aspects of church leadership. The goal is to prepare emerging lead pastors for future lead roles, including church planting, multisite leadership, or leading an existing church.

NextGen Resurgence was created to help emerging lead pastors gain the experience, support, and stability needed to grow into future leadership roles. As a paid ministry fellow in a host church, you will receive a livable full-time wage, benefits, professional development support, and meaningful ministry responsibilities. This is not an internship or apprentice program. It is an opportunity to serve, lead, and develop your calling while becoming an important part of a thriving church community.

Lead Alongside a Mentor

No pastor should have to navigate ministry alone. Every participant serves alongside an experienced lead pastor who is committed to investing personally in their growth and success. You will gain hands-on experience in preaching, teaching, discipleship, pastoral care, outreach, administration, and leadership while receiving guidance from someone who understands the challenges and opportunities of ministry. More than learning about leadership, you will experience it firsthand. Through intentional mentoring and real ministry opportunities, you will develop the confidence, skills, and perspective needed to lead others well.

From the very beginning, the goal is to prepare you for what comes next. Over one to three years, you will gain the experience, leadership development, and ministry opportunities needed to step into your first significant lead role. That next step may involve planting a new church, launching a campus ministry, or leading an existing congregation. NextGen Resurgence exists to raise up a new generation of pastors who are ready to lead, reach new communities, and help build the future of the Church.
